Since the year 1997, AquaChile Companies has believed in the importance of genetics applied to systems of intensive production of fish. Starting then, Aquachile developed a selection program of families from the species of atlantic salmon, coho salmon and trout. The experience of this project showed the need to incorporate new technology as the program progresses.
In 2007, Aquainnovo was born, based on the initiative of AquaChile S.A. the largest Chilean salmon company, in partnership with the University of Chile, supported by funds from the National Technological Consortium Contest of Innova-Chile (CORFO), which has been an extraordinary decision of significant contribution from the private enterprise to research and development in the Chilean aquaculture. Aquainnovo, as planned, has had its way into a highly competitive environment, at a national and international level, in temrs of its own efficiency and go to the market with quality products and services and furthermore, it has had to adapt to a new reality in the Chilean salmon industry, showing a great versatility to do this.
