
Aquainnovo’s funds, within a 5-year period, reachs 10 million USD, where 50% of this amount comes from Innova-Chile and the other 50% comes from the support of Empresas AquaChile.
The project—which started as an idea in 2004—involves building and implementing an Aquaculture Research and Transfer Center (CITA), a Molecular Genetics Laboratory of the latest generation and biotechnology services.
Aquainnovo´s staff is conformed by important geneticists, who are recognized in Chile and the rest of the world. At the same time, Ph.D. students are trained in our facilities and biotech professionals and technicians, of the highest level in biotech area, work all together as an integrated team in our company.
In terms of property, AquaChile has a participation of 83%, while the University of Chile owns 15% of Aquainnovo, and the 2% left belongs to a minority partner.
